The Syrian Foreign Ministry called on Monday that “criminal” attacks by Israel be “condemned by all UN member states,” amid an intense bombing campaign against different points in Lebanon, which has already resulted in at least 274 deaths.

The department also denounced in a statement that these Israeli attacks “would not have happened without the protection and complicity of the United States,” while accusing the Zionist state of acting “as if he were above international law and the Charter of the United Nations, far from being held accountable for his heinous actions”.
“By intensifying the genocidal war waged by the Israeli enemy in the region, this usurping entity continues to shed the blood of innocent people and commit massacres against defenceless civilians on a daily basis, in a manner unprecedented in modern history.”, adds the statement.
The Syrian Ministry also recalls that since early Monday morning Israel has “launched a continuous aggression” against Lebanon, and accuses the Israeli army of targeting medical centers, ambulances and civilian vehicles, among others.
On the other hand, he warns of “the dangerous consequences of this Israeli attempt to aggravate the situation and widen the circle of aggression in the region”, something that has raised all alarms about the possible outbreak of an open war between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
